About Us
What has the biggest impact on whether or not you go out? Is it an "enabled" toilet? Attentive staff? No! It’s information! If you know beforehand what to expect at a venue, you can plan ahead.
Greatvenue removes the social and technical barriers that can prevent people from going out more and enjoying the finer things in life. We provide you with the facts you need to make a particular venue accessible for you.
Who we are
Huy, Head Honcho
I am a humanitarian engineer, an entrepreneur and I am enabled! I see Greatvenue as a vehicle for social inclusion that encompasses both the accessible venues in our community and the virtual sphere where people can come together. Wherever I go in the world, Greatvenue is my common ground - it's something I share with, and that helps me to interact with, the diverse people I meet. It can be yours too.
Lawrence, Finance and Biz Wizard
Greatvenue is a fantastic opportunity for us to really get stuck into a problem that millions feel every day. I love identifying and fixing interesting problems and the social exclusion created by the lack of accessible venue information out there for people with a disability is a great challenge in which I can be involved.
Rohan, Website Wrangler
I'm crazy enthusiastic about creating businesses. Nothing beats planning something out and making it happen, with no intermediary between you and reality. Greatvenue is a way for me to do that and help a lot of people at the same time. There's always more to be done to make the site better, and I'm encountering a lot of exciting technical challenges along the way that I wouldn't have found otherwise.
Miriam, Marketeer
I'm a researcher with a passion for connecting people. I have always believed that the people you meet and the experiences you have make the world go round. One day I confessed a half-formed thought about wanting to be a part of the Greatvenue team to Huy over hot chocolate. Four days later I was living, breathing and dreaming it!
Camilo, Graphics and Branding
I'm an Industrial Designer with strong interests in Branding and Entrepreneurship. I spent a year in Canberra studying Management and tutoring at ANU, where I met Huy and became part of the team. I believe that there's nothing "disabled" about having different needs. This is something that Greatvenue can help other people understand.
